Unsolved Crime – Lead Masks Case

The death of two Brazilian electronic technicians, Manoel Pereira Da Cruz and Miguel Jose Viana named The Lead Masks Case. On the afternoon of August 20, 1966 a young boy when he was flying kite found two bodies on the Morro do Vintén in Niterói, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
Later boy reported them to the authorities. The police were unable to reach the bodies because The Morro do Vintem had diffucult terrain. Next day when a small team of police and firefighters arrived. They noted that the bodies’ in odd conditions. Two males were lying one each other, and slightly covered with grass. Both wore a formal suit, a waterproof coat, and a lead eye mask.

In the sorrounding area there were no signs of trauma and no evidence of the struggle. Police found an empty water bottle, a packet containing two wet towels, a small notebook was identified, in which were written the cryptic instructions. Later both were identified as Manoel Pereira da Cruz and Miguel José Viana, both are electronic technicians from Campos dos Goytacazes, a town several kilometers to the northeast of Rio de Janeiro.

After further investigation police got information. On August 17, both left Campos dos Goytacazes with the stated intent that they needed to purchase some materials for work. There was no onvious injuries were discovered at the scene, not later at the autospy. Also a search for toxic substances did not occur. There is many weird theories for this case.
