Goblin shark is one of the rare species of shark it is often called as living fossil. The fish lives in deep sea.
The shark is 3-4 meters. However larger fish of up to 5.4-6.2 meters and weight of 3.8 meter shark was found to have weight of 210 kg.
Its snout has helps the fish in detecting the signals produces by the prey. The diet of goblin shark consists of small bottom fishes and cephalopods.
Human interactions are not observed as the fish lives in deep sea.
The fish is rarely caught in fishery and is of no commercial value. The fish is widely distributed and rarely caught hence it is considered as a least concern species.
