Amazing places – Pamukkale
Pamukkale which means cotton castle in Turkish is a geological site located in Denizli Province in Turkey.
The site is also included in UNESCO world heritage site. The site consists of hot springs many terraces are formed due to deposition of calcium carbonate. The hot which comes out of the surface is saturated with calcium carbonate and carbon dioxide when it reaches the surface carbon dioxide leaves the water and calcium carbonate is deposited.
It is one of the major tourist attractions in Turkey. However there is strict regulation on use of thermal water in 1960s hotels were demolished because hotel drained thermal water. Now limited access is allowed to hotels.
For many tourists it is a beautiful and amazing place.
